Scaffolding Hire Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to all scaffolding supplied by Reeceys LTD unless we agree otherwise in writing. Please read them before confirming your booking. If anything is unclear, get in touch and we’ll explain.
1. Definitions
Company / We / Us means Reeceys LTD. Client / You means the person, business or agent ordering scaffolding. Works means the scaffold described in our quotation. Hire Period means the agreed time the scaffold remains erected on site.
2. Quotations & Booking
Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. A booking is confirmed when you accept our quotation in writing (email, text or WhatsApp) or pay a deposit if requested. We may pause or cancel a booking if safe access, required permits, or payment arrangements aren’t in place.
3. Hire Period & Extensions
Standard hire covers up to 6 weeks unless your quote says differently. If you need the scaffold longer, tell us before the end of the hire period so we can agree an extension. Extensions are charged weekly at the rate stated in your quote. If the scaffold remains on site without agreement, extension charges still apply and you remain responsible for its care and security.
4. Payments
Unless agreed otherwise, payment terms are:
- Residential jobs: payment due in full on completion of erection.
- Commercial jobs: payment due within 7 days of invoice date.
- Overdue accounts may be charged interest and reasonable recovery costs.
5. Cancellations & Rescheduling
You can cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before the agreed start date. Cancellations inside 48 hours may incur a fair charge for labour/transport already allocated. If weather or site conditions make work unsafe, we’ll reschedule with you at the earliest suitable slot.
6. Access, Site Conditions & Client Responsibilities
- Provide clear, safe access to the work area for erection and dismantle.
- Tell us about any hazards: fragile roofs, conservatories, basements, alarms, overhead/underground services, etc.
- Ensure ground/building surfaces are suitable to support scaffold loads.
- Move vehicles, skips or stored materials if they restrict safe working.
7. Permits & Licences
If scaffold, hoarding or waste facilities sit on a public pavement or highway, a council licence is required. We can arrange permits unless the quote says otherwise. Permit fees are payable by the Client. We cannot start installation until permits are approved.
8. Safety, Use & Alterations
- The scaffold is for the Client’s project use only. Keep unauthorised users off it.
- Do not alter the scaffold. Only Reeceys LTD may move, remove or add components.
- Do not overload platforms; distribute materials evenly and within safe limits.
- Stop using the scaffold and contact us immediately if anything appears damaged, loose or unstable.
9. Inspections
We inspect the scaffold on handover. After that, the Client must ensure inspections are carried out weekly and after severe weather, as required by Work at Height Regulations. We can provide ongoing inspections if arranged in advance.
10. Damage, Loss & Security
The Client is responsible for the scaffold while on hire, including loss, theft or damage beyond fair wear and tear. Secure ladders and access points when the site is unattended. Missing or damaged items may be charged at replacement cost.
11. Dismantling
When your project is ready, contact us to book dismantling. We aim to dismantle promptly, subject to workload and permit rules. Please ensure platforms are clear of materials and access is safe for our crew.
12. Liability
We are not responsible for delays or losses caused by circumstances outside our control, including weather, permit delays, restricted access, or third-party works. Our liability is limited to the value of the Works quoted, except where law requires otherwise. We are not liable for: (a) damage caused by unauthorised alteration or misuse, (b) issues arising from the Client’s structure or ground, (c) indirect or consequential losses.
13. Insurance
We hold public liability and employer’s liability insurance. Copies are available on request. The Client should also maintain appropriate insurance for their property and project.
14. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with any part of our service, please contact us in writing as soon as possible. We’ll investigate and work with you to resolve the issue quickly.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any dispute will be dealt with in the courts of England & Wales.
By accepting our quotation or allowing erection to proceed, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.
